Addressing Recent Quality Issues
Here at Alderson Family Farms, we strive to deliver the best quality we can for the price. Since the start of the year, I feel we haven’t been able to meet this standard we have set for ourselves. Our main supplier has had numerous issues in regards to supply and quality, things we take seriously. This has not only disrupted our normal flow of things, but this recent batch we feel they have seriously dropped the ball on in a way that isn’t what we feel safe putting out. I can give you a timeline to help show you the measures we have been taking behind the scenes and what this means for the future of the company.
End of January/Beginning of February
I gave my suppliers money for several lbs of concentrates. Everything proceeded as normal, tracking was given. Pack arrived. No concentrates. I contacted them and was told they were backed up and would ship them next day air. Then got the run around for a couple weeks until they said hey, we have more concentrates. All new strains. I told them let’s tack on a few more lbs, here’s more for the drop. They give me tracking. I receive another box, just flower no concentrates. By this point, I’m wondering what’s going on.
Middle to end of February
We finally receive concentrates. But it’s not the new strains they told us. It’s the old strains we originally ordered and were shorted on. And only half of our order total. I ask what’s going on, I get the run around and then another tracking. New strains arrive. All seem decent. A couple strains come in like liquid/distillate. We discount them and don’t make much of it as this happens sometimes with cheap badders. But because of this, we started to shop for a new supplier as the entire month of February was just a massive headache and holding onto our money like that with no communication was completely unprofessional in our eyes.
Beginning of March
Our supplier reaches out to us and asks if we would be interested in setting up Net 30 terms with them so we can have product up front. We decide to agree and inquire about more concentrates. They say new ones are listed and we chose ones that weren’t as liquidy. So far, we’ve paid half of the Net 30 terms with them with this.
No orders since 3/20 have shipped out. We are holding the product and if our suppliers ask for it back, we will ship it to them. But for now, we are going to pull it and go from there and contact those customers. Luckily, it isn’t a massive amount of people affected by the orders that haven’t shipped.
Tuesday, 3/24. Orders will start flowing as normal. We will have some new products listed as well to help balance the load. We have access to a plethora of products we were looking into before this happened, so we shouldn’t see any prolonged delays, but we will see more new product lines start to appear on our shop with different price points. The first of those, you should see sometime today/tonight. With that said, the “Cured badder” line is currently discontinued as a line until we find an official new source for this. For now, we still have plenty of flower from them as well and will probably continue to use them for flower. Anyone affected by this, I'll reach out if you haven't already reached out to me.
There will be a live resin dropping sometime today. Please watch for the drop.
None of our other lines are affected by this change other than the cured badders. Our rosins, premium badders, etc. are all sourced from different suppliers so this shouldn’t affect our business near as much as it did in February when the issues began.
We are discussing a new line of product as well with Oasis Refinery. We would be able to match their pricing as well. More info coming soon.
UPDATE:
Currently, our supplier has apologized, will be taking the product back, and refunding us. As we are processing refunds, replacements, subs, or store credit, please be patient as we try to catch up and get this taken care of for everyone affected.
Any package with tracking that isn't moving right now, that's on purpose. We pulled them and are sending those jars directly to the supplier. We are making a list of everyone affected and will be reaching out one-on-one to see how each person would like the situation rectified.
Those who HAVE ALREADY received this recent batch, please feel free to reach out through my email marty@aldersonfamilyfarms.net on how you'd like to handle this!
In the meantime, we have a live resin drop happening at some point. And things should be back to moving. Only those with cured badder orders of the newest drop are affected by this. All of our other concentrates are not affected by this, nor sourced from them.
Our deepest apologies. We will do better and start tapping more into our local (and better) sourcing for products for you all.
